The Book of Awesome

My mom bought this for my birthday. It's is a great book filled with little blurbs about everyday, things we miss but should appreciate as they are AWESOME!

There are things in this book for everyone. I rather enjoyed the blurb on "watching the Price is Right when home sick" and "The square of a waffle that collects the most syrup and butter"  Both things are normal occurrences but it's the simple things in life that are awesome!

I really like this book  because you can open it up to any page and read something fun and satisfying. it's a great book to have on the coffee table. Sometimes I read it to my mom when we are sitting having coffee or tea. It's the perfect book to read on weekends or in spare time.

The book is twenty dollars, but you can also check out the website 1000awesomething.com  Also, if you do not want to pay that price I highly would encourage borrowing the book from a friend or library.

Writer's Confrence

there where many speakers through out the day but Teresa Toten was my favourite. She came across as down to earth. She showed great enthusiam towards everything people had to say.

She did a fun exercise in which she gave a single sentence and from there we were to write what ever we felt worked with it for a only a minute. No writing before that minute was up and no erasing or revising during.

Too write in the minute was liberating. I didn't write anything fantastic but she was right about your brain getting in the way. Your brain is there to edit and revise which is good but it stops us from writing what we really feel. Writing out of pure gut feeling allows you to go deep inside yourself and write honestly.

This is a great exercise for writer's block and I am sure to use it in the future.

SUCKERPUNCH IS LAME....rant

It's an episode of Sailormoon injected with steroids and heroine. To say this is a "empowering female movie" is an insult to women. Considering there is no in depth dialogue and ever other scene is a slow-mo crotch shot.
Personally I was really looking forward to this movie. I knew from the trailer I wasn't going to see a life changing flick but I did expect more depth. The acting was not terrible but the poor actresses had no dialogue to work off. They did not try to give the girls any personality. They're purpose was to prance around in revealing clothing while shooting off enormous guns.

The action scenes are intense for the first fifteen minutes. The slow-motion, jump, flip, kill becomes repetitive. The CGI is alright but with today's technology they could have done much more with it. You can compare the quality to Lord of the Rings. Which is praisable but dated.

I should post something...but I don't promise great intellect
